A tactical deception unit named The Ghost Army during World War II used Sonic Deception in order to create scenarios that the enemy would believe. Every day activities found at armoured and infantry units were recorded as sound effects that were then played to be heard up to 15 miles away. The sounds were recorded using Wire Recorders and played back on powerful amplifiers and speakers.
